We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Manager to join our innovative outdoor brand. As a key leader in our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive training strategies that align with our brand values, business goals, and the unique needs of the outdoor retail industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, a proven track record in training design/implementation, and the ability to inspire and empower teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Curriculum Development
- Design and implement a world-class training program for all retail staff (store managers, sales associates, visual merchandisers) across multiple channels (in-store, e-commerce, wholesale).
- Create modular training content covering:
- Product Knowledge: Technical features of outdoor gear (e.g., hiking boots, camping equipment, apparel), sustainability initiatives, and brand storytelling.
- Customer Experience: Consultative selling techniques, outdoor lifestyle advocacy, and problem-solving for outdoor enthusiasts.
- Operational Excellence: Store operations, inventory management, and safety protocols (e.g., wilderness gear maintenance).
- Leadership Skills: Development programs for retail managers (team building, performance coaching, KPIMonitoring).
- Leverage e-learning platforms (LMS) and hybrid models (in-person + digital) to scale training globally/regionally.
Training Delivery & Execution
- Deliver engaging workshops, webinars, and on-the-job training sessions, with a focus on adult learning principles and hands-on application.
- Partner with regional teams to tailor programs for diverse markets (e.g., urban vs. outdoor-focused stores, cultural nuances).
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and prioritize training initiatives (e.g., new product launches, seasonal campaigns).
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Measure the impact of training through KPIs (e.g., sales growth, customer satisfaction scores, staff retention rates).
- Analyze feedback from learners and stakeholders to refine programs and ensure ROI.
- Stay updated on industry trends (e.g., outdoor tech, sustainability) to keep training content cutting-edge.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Retail Operations to align training with brand campaigns, product launches, and seasonal strategies.
- Partner with HR to integrate training into onboarding, career development, and performance management processes.
- Liaise with external partners (e.g., outdoor influencers, industry experts) to enhance training authenticity and relevance.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage training budgets, including costs for materials, technology, and external facilitators.
- Track and report on training expenses and outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:
- 5+ years in training management, preferably in retail, outdoor, or consumer goods industries.
- Proven ability to design and scale training programs across multiple locations.
- Knowledge & Expertise:
- Deep understanding of the outdoor industry (products, customer needs, trends).
- Proficiency in adult learning methodologies, instructional design, and LMS platforms.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on execution and deadlines.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for engaging diverse audiences.
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

- Technical Skills:
